A smile makeover refers to any combination of cosmetic dental procedures that enhances the beauty and appearance of the smile, correcting almost any problem:
- crooked teeth can be straightened
- chipped, broken teeth can be repaired
- missing teeth can be replaced
- gaps between teeth can be closed
- gummy smiles can be recontoured
- stained, discolored teeth can be whitened
- and more
If you are looking for a brighter, whiter smile then tooth whitening can be a very effective way of lightening the color of your teeth. Tooth whitening is a highly effective way of combating stains created from smoking, eating, and certain drinks such as coffee, tea and wine.
At Gentech Dentist we have a variety of whitening options to meet your particular needs.
Opalescence Boost In-office Whitening System
Opalescence Boost is an in-office, chemically activated whitening treatment that offers results in about an hour. This unique, chemically activated formula allows your dentist to whiten your teeth without the bothersome heat or ultraviolet rays of light. Opalescence Boost also contains potassium nitrate and fluoride, which help to improve oral health by strengthening enamel, decreasing sensitivity, and offering increased cavity prevention.
Opalescence Custom Take-Home Whitening Trays
Take-home trays are an easy, affordable option for whitening that is clinically shown to be more effective than over the counter whitening trays or strips. Your dentist will fabricate a plaster model of your teeth to make whitening trays that fit you perfectly. At home you apply the whitening gel to your trays and wear for several hours or overnight for a beautiful, whiter smile.
Opalescence Pre-Loaded Whitening Trays
The most affordable option for whitening, these pre-loaded trays comfortably adapt to fit any smile and are worn for 30-60 minutes once a day.
Please note that an exam, x-rays and cleaning are needed prior to a whitening session to determine the health of your mouth and which whitening option would be best for you.
One method to quickly improve the appearance of your smile is through dental veneers. These wafer-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-colored materials are bonded to the front of teeth, changing their color, shape, size and/or length. Some possible applications for veneers are when teeth are worn down, discolored, broken or chipped, misaligned, uneven, or have gaps between them.
Inlays or onlays can sometimes result in a more natural look than a standard filling, or can be used to replace existing “silver-colored” fillings if improved esthetics is desired. Inlays and onlays are also used for general restorative dentistry. More information about inlays/onlays.
While crowns and bridges serve a very useful purpose in general restorative dentistry, they can also create beautiful results. Porcelain or ceramic crowns in particular can create a beautiful smile in what was previously a problem area. More information about crowns and bridges.
Dentures and partials have long been employed by dentists. (George Washington even had a set made of cow’s teeth and hippopotamus ivory!) The field of prosthodontics, which is concerned with the design, manufacture and replacement of missing teeth has obviously made great strides since President Washington’s time. Today, dentures and partials are regularly used in restorative dentistry, but like so many other dental procedures, can result in a beautiful smile. More information about dentures and partials.
A dental implant is designed to be surgically placed in the bone of your jaw as a replacement for a missing tooth (or teeth). A crown is placed on top of the implant with the result of not only exceptional functionality, but superior beauty. Because dental implants look and feel like your own teeth, the result is improved appearance, speech and comfort as compared to dentures. Dental implants are a way to give you your smile back.
